If you're reading this because you're managing money alone for the first time, near or in retirement, after a divorce or the death of your spouse, you don't need anyone to explain what that feels like. The confusion. The exhaustion of decisions you never expected to make by yourself. The quiet fear that you should already know this by now. Sandra understands, not because she read about it, but because she's lived a version of it herself.
She was raised by a young widow. She watched her mother carry the weight of sudden loss and financial uncertainty alone, without a roadmap, without enough support. Years later, Sandra went through her own divorce. She knows what it's like to sit across from your own finances and feel like the ground has shifted under you.
That's the lens everything else about her was built through. Sandra holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce, is a Chartered Financial Planner (CFP®), and a Certified Financial Divorce Specialist (CFDS), with more than 27 years of experience guiding people through life's biggest financial turning points. For 17 of those years, she's specialized in divorce and loss specifically, one of the few Financial Divorce Specialists and Mediators in Northern Ontario. Her work has earned 15 national and international industry awards, though she'll tell you the ones nominated by her own clients mean just as much to her.
But none of that is why women trust her with the hardest chapters of their lives. They trust her because she's stood exactly where they're standing. Plan Her Future exists so you don't have to walk this alone the way Sandra once watched her mother, and later herself, walk it.

"Many women tell me the same thing after divorce or widowhood: they feel overwhelmed making decisions alone, unsure where to begin, and tired of carrying the full weight of their future on their shoulders.
This is exactly why I created the PlanHerFuture Community, so you no longer have to rebuild your life in isolation, or guess your way through major financial and emotional decisions." — Sandra Mews, Founder

Grief and financial fear can make even a phone call feel impossible. Sandra teaches through cooking because it lowers the emotional temperature of hard topics and creates real connection, the same way sharing a recipe naturally becomes a bridge between people.
Food carries history. A recipe is rarely just a recipe, it's a grandmother's handwriting, a holiday table, a dish someone used to make for you before everything changed. Cooking taps into that same sense of belonging, the comfort of a shared table, the memory of being cared for. It's culture and connection passed hand to hand, the same way trust and honesty are passed around Sandra's kitchen table.
Numbers alone can be intimidating, especially if you've never thought of yourself as "a math person." That's where cooking analogies help most. When money is explained through something you already know in your hands, it stops feeling like a foreign language and starts feeling like home. A budget makes more sense when it's explained like a recipe: measured ingredients, the right proportions, room to adjust to taste. An emergency fund feels less abstract once you've thought of it as your pantry staples, the things you always keep stocked so you're never caught without. These analogies aren't just charming, they're how hard, unfamiliar ideas actually stick.
True transformation happens when women have a stable foundation and a circle that lifts them up.
If you wait
Another month of figuring this out alone, with no one to check your thinking against
Decisions made from fear and guesswork, instead of a clear plan
Isolation that tends to deepen the longer it goes unaddressed
The same unanswered questions, still waiting for you, later
If you join us
A community that already understands, without you needing to explain
Structure and guidance, so decisions come from clarity, not panic
Real friendships that carry you through more than just the hard days
A steady, growing sense of confidence in your own future
